THE ORIGINS
of Rempart Neurophysiology
The name “Rempart Neurophysiology” is inspired by two concepts:
the birthplace of our founder
the medical service primarily offered by the company.
Our founder, Dr. Fournier, grew up in the beautiful metropolitan area of Quebec City, home of the Château Frontenac and its Remparts. For some, the Quebec Ramparts are associated with a significant junior field hockey team. For others, the Remparts of Quebec City are a fortification of more than 4.6 kilometres surrounding and protecting the Château Frontenac. Since its construction in 1690, these stone walls have protected the Château Frontenac and the city of Quebec from invaders. In surgery, the role of the Rempart Neurophysiology is one of neuroprotection. It covers the patient from any neurological damage that may occur during surgery. And if the threat arises, Rempart repels the invader by guiding the surgeon in his surgical approach to avoid permanent damage.
